Quanzhou, also known as Licheng, Ertong City, and Wenling, is currently the economic center of Fujian Province and one of the three major central cities in Fujian. It is also a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and the ancestral home of Taiwanese people in China. Quanzhou is located on the southeast coast of China, facing Taiwan across the sea. In ancient times, Quanzhou Port was known as the "largest port in the East" and is on par with Alexandria Port in Egypt. With the approval of the State Council, Quanzhou is one of the first batch of 24 historical and cultural cities to be announced, earning the reputation of "Coastal Zoulu" and "City of Light".
